Investing In My Future (IIMF) Senior Recognition Night

Diamond Denney, Restorative Justice & Equity Coordinator

Investing In My Future (IIMF) had a senior recognition night were they recognized the seniors who graduated high school. With the help of Polk County Decat, Minority, Youth and Family Initiative (MYFI) funds, IIMF was able to continue their wonderful programming with the youth. IIMF has a 100% graduation rate, meaning that every student who goes through this program will graduate high school.

Investing In My Future (IIMF) is an Iowa non-profit organization dedicated to exposing African-American students in the Des Moines area to educational opportunities that encourage students to consider post-secondary education. Throughout the academic year students participate in workshops such as career exploration, financial literacy, resume building, essay writing, interviewing skills, ACT/SAT test preparation, and visit colleges both within the state of Iowa and nationwide. To date, more than 700 students have benefited from participation in IIMF programming and they expect that number to continue to grow.
